About
The Franklin Township Fire Department has been in operation since 1948, providing essential public safety assistance to the community. It originated as three separate agencies, including the New Village, Asbury, and Broadway Fire Departments. In the late 1990s, New Village and Broadway came together to merge their departments, forming the first Franklin Township Fire Department. Additionally, in March of 2010, Asbury joined with them, creating the final version of the department seen today.
In May of 2017, the Franklin Township Rescue Squad also merged with the fire department, establishing the Franklin Township Fire Department - EMS Division. With all three fire departments and the rescue squad combined, the agency is able to cut down on resource response time for large incidents within the town and provide better service as a whole to those who need it.
